Whether you’re a first-time buyer, you’re new to new construction, or you simply haven’t bought a home in years, we’d like to demystify the new home buying process for you! Our “Pathway to New Home Ownership” is a step-by-step guide to building your new CareFree home.

Contract Accepted

Once your contract is approved we order plans, permits and material needed to start your home.

Design Studio

A representative will contact you within the first week to schedule your design appointment. You’ll visit our state-of-the-art design studio where you’ll select colors, finishes and discuss any upgrades or structural options you desire.

Pre-Construction Meeting

The purpose of the Pre-Construction meeting is to set expectations and educate you on the overall home building process of your new home. Additionally, you’ll meet your CareFree superintendent.

Pre-Drywall Meeting

At the Pre-Drywall Meeting you’ll inspect your home with your superintendent prior to drywall installation and to verify each item on the change order has been installed. You’ll learn first-hand the quality of craftsmanship in each home built.

Blue Tape Walk-Thru Meeting

As you walk through your new home you’ll locate and mark (with blue tape) any items of concern that you would like to address or correct. All cosmetics items should be addressed at this time.

Private Inspections

The inspection should occur the following day of our QA inspection. A 3rd Party inspector will go through the home with the goal to identify items that perhaps are not installed per current codes and/or not working per the manufacturer’s specifications.

Customer Orientation

The primary purpose of this meeting is to orient you where each key item of the home is located and how they work.

Closing and Recording

Closing on your home occurs nine calendar days after the Blue Tape Walk-Thru meeting. You’ll receive notification from the Title company and our closing department regarding the date and time to sign all loan documents. Afterwards, your home is officially yours.

Picking up Your Home Keys

Once your home has closed, recorded and we receive notification, you will receive a phone call from your community sales associate for your new home keys.

Transfer of Utilities

You will be provided with contact information for each utility company associated with your new home so items can be put into your name.

Warranty / Appointments

CareFree Homes’ stands behind all of our homes built and warranty them to continue to work as they were designed to do. The 30 day and 11 month warranty appointment time-line starts on the day of your home recording in El Paso. In Southern Utah, the warranty appointments are 6 months and 12 months which begin on the day of your home recording.
